Approach
TRIANGLE is bringing together a vibrant community of GI and liver researchers who, with the support of TRIANGLE and each other, will transform research, patient care, and the fields in which they choose to use their skills and knowledge.
Toward this goal, we look for awardees who are excellent researchers (or show the promise of becoming them) and committed, compassionate, community-oriented thinkers. The criteria our Selection committee uses to choose new awardees—detailed below—reflect the kinds of people we want to bring into the TRIANGLE community and who we hope will lead the field in the future.
Areas Considered
The Selection Committee assigns a score to each of the following application areas:
- research, clinical, and/or academic achievements
- community contributions
- career and development plans
- research plans
- research environment and support of their supervisor or research/clinical department
Scoring
The detailed selection criteria below outline how reviewers are asked to score each area above.
Summary
- Reviewers assign each area a score out of 100
- Each area contributes a specific weight to the application’s overall score
- When assigning an area score, reviewers are guided on which application elements to consider and how much each element should inform the area score (via the points assigned to each element)
- Points are intended to guide reviewers in what weight to give application elements in determining the area score, but reviewers are only required to assign a score to the application area, not individual elements
- Reviewers carefully consider all of the contexts detailed in applicants’ Personal Statement when assigning a score to each area
- Reviewers are not required to provide detailed comments on each application
